A Chemical Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Fan (Chemical FRP Fan) is a specialized industrial ventilation device developed to handle corrosive, toxic, or chemically reactive gases. Constructed primarily from fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) using high-performance thermosetting resins, it provides exceptional resistance to acids, alkalis, and solvents that would rapidly corrode traditional steel fans. This makes it ideal for chemical process exhaust systems, laboratory fume extraction, plating workshops, and gas scrubbing units.

The fan operates on centrifugal airflow principles: air enters the impeller axially and is expelled radially under centrifugal force. The impeller, volute casing, and inlet cone are made of FRP reinforced with continuous glass fibers, ensuring both mechanical strength and chemical stability. The resin matrix can be selected according to the gas composition—typically vinyl ester, epoxy, or polypropylene-modified resins—to resist various chemical vapors such as HCl, HF, H₂SO₄, or Cl₂.

Key structural components such as the shaft, fasteners, and bearing supports are made from 304 or 316L stainless steel, fully isolated from the corrosive airflow. Bearings are located outside the airstream, with sealed housings for protection. The motor can be directly coupled or belt-driven, and for highly corrosive atmospheres, the motor is installed outside the airflow path with a flexible coupling. Optional anti-static or explosion-proof configurations are available for handling flammable gases.

The fan provides airflows from 500 to 80,000 m³/h, with static pressures between 400 and 4,000 Pa. It delivers high aerodynamic efficiency and low noise due to smooth internal surfaces and precision dynamic balancing. Chemical FRP fans are widely used in acid gas treatment systems, electroplating exhaust, and environmental protection equipment. Their light weight, corrosion-proof performance, and low maintenance requirements make them a superior alternative to metal fans in chemical ventilation applications.
